I have been running this on my own network for the last 6 weeks or so.įirst, a note about Synology’s product range. Synology’s DS415+ is a NAS (Network Attached Storage) device aimed at small businesses or demanding home users. However I still needed the manual fix for slimserver.css. Many thanks to LMS user pinkdot on the LMS forums. Update: I fixed the settings issue by installing the latest LMS 9.0 with this patch. I can live with that (open in Internet Explorer) but would like to find a fix. The LMS Settings page does not work in Edge. I’m glad because I have LMS on the Edge favourites bar, and the alternative (opening LMS in IE or another browser) is less convenient.Īnd yes, I use Edge, in part to keep in touch with what it is like, in part because I’m resistant to a Google Chrome monoculture, and in part because it’s pretty good now (the initial Edge release was hardly usable). I logged into the Synology over SSH and made the change manually in works. However this does not update the Synology package. However, I then discovered that the LMS 9.0 UI does not work in Microsoft Edge, if you have the Creators Update. Now I can play native DSF files through Squeezebox Touch (you also need the EDO modification) and a Teac DSD DAC. A user has updated the plugin, and if you add the following plugin repository: I installed, then added DSDPlayer and, hmm, I could see the DSD files but they did not play. You enable beta versions in the Package Center and it will offer to update. I then discovered that Synology is showing signs of updating LMS and has a beta release of LMS 9.0. DSD is the format used by SACD and some audiophiles swear it sounds better than PCM. ![]() This means you can output native DSD provided you have a DSD DAC (and some DSD files to play). There are a few issues with this release, but I lived with it, until I discovered that LMS 9.x can play DSD files, using a DSDPlayer plugin that adds DoP (DSD over PCM) support. Synology has been slow to keep its LMS package up to date and the official release is still 7.7.6. It works very well, better than when I used a Windows VM. This is an on-going issue with me, too, and it really spoils the magnificent work you have done with Audirvana… eventually making me going back to VLC whenever I run into those ghost duplicatesĪll my music files are in the /music folder on the Synology, and I am not using iTunes/Music/iCloud.I run Logitech Media Server (LMS) on a Synology NAS. It is just a plain folder with freshly ripped FLAC files which is added as only folder to sync in Audirvana. (As wrote in comment 12 of this thread this might be a result of adding new files to the Synology drive while Audirvana was still running – but actually, Audirvana seemed to be doing fine, and immediately registered newly added and removed tracks.) In the course of last week, while I was adding all these new files, ghost duplicates appeared here and there. On each occasion when duplicates appeared I checked that there were no file duplicates. When I open the details drawer in Audirvana, it tells me that all those duplicate files have the identical location and name (see screenshot below). I have run all 3 database maintenance actions on the preferences page.I have re-indexed my Synology’s media folder as suggested in comment 48, then synced the folder in Audirvana, but the ghost duplicates are still there. But today…Īfter I discovered the duplicates I followed the suggestions from this thread: In the example of the screenshot, there were no changes to this album’s files in the last couple of days, and I had played it yesterday: the duplicate was not there. I have not deleted the SQLite database: this has briefly solved the problem in the past, but each time I needed to set up all my playlists again… which, even when you export them first, is a pain in the neck.
